A catalogue of the genuine and curious collection of pictures, bronzes, marble tables, urns, vases, and other antiques, of the Right Honourable the Lord Viscount Coleraine, Deceased; Brought from his late Seat at Tottenham High-Cross, in the County of Middlesex. Which (by Order of the Executors) Will be sold by auction, By Mr. Langford, At his House in the Great Piazza, Covent Garden, On Wednesday and Thursday the 13th and 14th of this Instant March 1754. The said Collection will be exhibited to publick View from Monday the 11th Instant till the Time of Sale, which will begin each Day punctually at Twelve O'Clock. A catalogue of a curious collection of Greek, Roman, and other medals; also some scarce and valuable antique marble busts, urns, vases, basso relievos, particularly a statue of Hercules of Parian marble, out of the collection of Girardon; antique and other bronzes, a neat collection of pictures, &c. Belonging to a gentleman, (deceased;) brought from his seat in the country. Which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Prestage, at his great room the end of Savile-Row, next Conduit-Street, Hanover-Square, (by order of the executors,) on Tuesday, the 13th of May, 1766. And at the same time will be sold four capital pictures of Rosa Tivoli, belonging to a nobleman deceased. The said collection may be viewed on Saturday the 10th of May, 1766, and till the time of sale (Sunday expected;) punctually at twelve o'clock. A catalogue of a valuable and capital collection of pictures, scarce antique coins, medals, bronzes, basso and also relievo's, a matchless and superb vase, and two urns of the ancient Roman ware, Being formerly the collection of pope paul iv. left by will to prince carafa, of naples, and consigned from thence. Amongst the above pictures are a Holey Family, by Raphael, and three history pieces, by C. Calabrese. To which, by permission, are added, a small collection of Italian, French, and Flemish pictures, the property of a gentleman, (Going Abroad.) The whole of which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, at his great room, in Pall-Mall, on Friday and Saturday, December 14 and 15, 1770. Nenia Britannica; or, A sepulchral history of Great Britain; From the earliest period to its general conversion to Christianity. Including a complete series of the British, Roman, and Saxon sepulchral rites and ceremonies, with the contents of several hundred burial places, opened under a careful inspection of the author. The barrows containing urns, swords, spear-heads, daggers, knives, battle-axes, shields, and armill:̆-decorations of women; consisting of gems, pensile ornaments, bracelets, beads, gold and silver buckles, broaches ornamented with precious stones; several magical instruments; some very scarce and unpublished coins; and a variety of other curious relics deposited with the dead. Tending to illustrate the early part of and to fix on a more unquestionable criterion for the study of antiquity: to which are added, observations on the Celtic, British, Roman, and Danish Barrows, discovered in Britain.
